German WWII HJ Buckle-This is a one-piece example of a stamped zinc Hitler Youth buckle. All of the original silver finish is missing on the obverse, and approx. 95% remains on the reverse. The zinc has toned to a nice pewter gray color. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged HJ eagle clutching an HJ diamond within its talons on a pebbled round background. Above the eagle is the Hitler Youth motto reading: “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honor). This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes and all lies on the smooth rectangular background. The reverse features an integral catch with steel roll bar and prongs. The catch end is stamped with an RZM motto followed by the code M4/118 indicating production by Werner Redo of Saarlautern.
