German WWII HJ Buckle by Assmann-This example is an “as found” example. It is a one piece stamped example. This example has lost nearly all of its shiny nickel silver finish but the remaining nickel is a nice matte silver color. There is some discoloration and pitting throughout, so please see photos. The details to the eagle, and the “Blut und Ehre” motto are still sharp. The reverse is marked with the double ring RZM and 17, with a stylized “A” logo, ges.gesch indicating production by F.W. Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. The catch is “U” shaped. Please be aware that the roll bar and prongs are missing on this example. The reverse shows some discolorations near the feet of the “U” catch. Again, this nicely marked buckle is in as found condition, but would make a nice placeholder for a new beginning collector.
