German WWII Iron Cross 2nd Class by S. Jablonski GmbH-This is a very good example of an iron cross 2nd class. The black finish on the core is mostly intact. There is a spot of finish loss on the reverse so please see photos. The silver frame has a very nice tone. The ring of this example is marked “128” for the maker S. Jablonski GmbH of Posen (which is now in Poland). This comes with a long portion of original ribbon that is clean with bright colors and in excellent condition. A good looking example.

History: The German Iron Cross of 1939, awarded during World War II, was a reintroduction of the historic Prussian Iron Cross by Adolf Hitler at the start of the conflict, featuring a swastika in the center and a ribbon incorporating the colors of the TR regime (black, white, and red) instead of the traditional Prussian black and white stripes. This medal was essentially a way to continue the tradition of military valor recognition while aligning it with the new ideology.
