German WWII Kriegsmarine Mess Serving Bowl-This is a square shaped bowl that measures approx. 9 ½ inches (24.13cm) in diameter. It measures approx. 3 inches (7.62cm) deep. This is white with a red stripes around the edge of the plate, these colored stripes indicated that these would be used by the higher level officers. This platter shows light use. There are a few scuffs to the red stripe, so please be sure to look closely at the photos. The bottom is very well marked for the Königszelt factory and is dated 1940. This factory was located in Silesia, now Poland. Interesting that they won the license to produce Walt Disney porcelain in the 1930’s. They are still in business today under a different name. The bottom of the plate is also well marked with the Kriegsmarine proof or acceptance mark.
