German WWII Luftwaffe 2nd Model Take Down Paratrooper Gravity Knife by Weyersberg-This take down knife would make a good placeholder for a starting collector. The wooden grips on the handle are in very good condition. They have a nice tone, show slight wear and a few small dents, but overall are very good. The steel fittings have a nice tone, but are coated lightly in rust, mostly from being stored in a damp area. This knife also has a coat of rust on sections of the blade. The spring functions but is a bit loose, and the blade sticks out about ¾ of an inch (1.9cm). The spike is in place, with the number 5 Luftamt. The blade has a deeply incised RBN’r 0/0561/0020 which corresponds to the number assigned to the maker Paul Weyersberg. Overall, I would rate this take down knife as good only, and again, would make a decent placeholder for a new collector.
