German WWII Luftwaffe Belt Buckle-This good looking buckle is made out of stamped aluminum. Take a look at this buckle, and tell me that some airman didn’t wear the heck out of this buckle. I love finding these pieces that show wear in all the right places. If you are a minty guy, this isn’t the buckle for you, but if you like your buckles to have that lived in look, this is a nice example for your collection. The detail on the pebbling is good, but worn on the corners and edges of the buckle body where this would rub against the tunic. The same is true for the wreath and the eagle, the high points of the eagles’ feathers show moderate wear. If you look on the reverse, you can see the makers mark R.S&S for Richard Seiper & Söhne below the catch. This maker’s mark shows wear, this has been worn down a bit, most likely by the belt. It is still readable. This is an honest wartime example and priced to sell. This one has a lot of character!
