German WWII Luftwaffe Standarte Bearer’s Patch for Flying Unit-This beautiful standard bearer patch is on a shield shaped backing which is lined in blue grey badge cloth. This example is in fantastic condition! The crossed standards are absolutely beautiful, full of details and super high quality. The flags are yellow and white, with black highlights and swastikas. The left side, as viewed, has a hand sewn silver flat wire wreath and eagle, while on the right there is a wreath with black Iron Cross. The upper half of each pole is yellow while the lower half is black, each having silver flat wire highlights. Each finial is a hand sewn silver flat wire eagle and swastika. Even the tassels are life like, being sewn in white, red and black cloth with silver flat wire tassels. The reverse has a fully intact blue-green paper backing. The yellow flags indicate this was for a flight/paratrooper standard bearer. This very colorful and desirable patch would be worn on the right shoulder of the one person in the unit that was designated to carry the regimental standarte (flag). Excellent and super desirable!
