German WWII Luftwaffe Sword by SMF-This is a gorgeous example of a Luftwaffe sword. This is an early example in nickel silver. It measures approx. 36 inches (91.44cm) long with a blade that measures 28 inches (71.12cm). This sword has the early nickel silver fittings with a finish that is intact on both the pommel cap and crossguard. The gold gilt in the early mobile swastika on both the pommel and the crossguard is 95% or better. The details on the crossguard are very good. The blue Moroccan leather grip is in very good condition. The silver wire grip wrap on the blue Moroccan leather handle is in place and overall, it has toned but is in very good condition. The Moroccan blue leather of the scabbard is excellent. The aluminum scabbard fittings are dent free and are a beautiful tone. The ball at the tip of the scabbard is undented. The blade is also excellent. It shows the SMF Knight logo and waffenamt on the reverse under the crossguard. This is a very desirable sword in excellent condition.
