German WWII Model 36 SS Chain Dagger-This is a textbook example in every way. The nickel silver fittings are excellent being 98% intact. The wooden handle is excellent, with only a few slight indentations from years of use. The aluminum grip eagle is an excellent fit to the handle. The SS runic button is excellent with nice clear, damage free enamel. The anodized scabbard is also excellent, with a finish that remains 99% in place. The nickel silver fittings are a nice shiny silver color that matches the fittings of the dagger. There is some slight finish loss to the ball tip of the scabbard. This tip remains undented and is not flattened at all. This comes with a Type II chain that is textbook. The correct link is marked on the reverse with the SS runes. The snap clip is missing the spring but still functions. The blade is choice. You can clearly see the factory cross graining in the blade. The deeply engraved motto “Meine Ehre heist Treue” (My Honor is Loyalty) is very clear. This is a near excellent example of a scarce textbook chained SS dagger.
