German WWII Original Press Photo of Soldiers in the Mud with a Horse-This would have been a common scene on the Eastern front as most of the roads were unpassable by car, and would have been traveled with horses. This horse is pulling an Ersatzfeldwagen 43, a common light horse cart. Remember over 2.75 million horses were used during World War 2. They were used to transport supplies, equipment and artillery through challenging landscapes like mud and snow. This photo measures approx. 7 inches (17.78cm) long by 5 inches (12.7cm) wide. There is studio and copyright information on the reverse. This has lost its detail card that usually accompanies these press photos. This is a cool photo in many ways.
