German WWII Police NCO Sword by Krebs-This is a handsome example that measures 39 inches (99.06cm) in total length with a blade that measures approx. 33 inches 83.82cm) long. The black ribbed wooden handle damage free and is in good condition, it does show wear from years of use. It is slightly loose. The nickel silver police eagle retains its finish and has a very nice tone and details. It is a nice tight fit to the handle. The nickel silver on the guard, crossguard and pommel show some light spotting, I would rate this as being 95% intact. The fitting that sits just above the crossguard is beautiful in its detail and burnishing. The original thick brown leather buffer is missing under the crossguard. The scabbard retains approx. 85% of its original black finish and shows the only light wear and no denting. The scabbard fitting has the same light spotting as the crossguard and guard, so these look very good together. The throat of the scabbard has the SS proof mark! The blade is very good, it has the Peter Daniel Krebs’s crayfish logo on the obverse, with the SS proof mark on the reverse side. The blade shows light spotting but is overall, very good. This is a very good example of an NCO police sword.
