German WWII Police Officer’s Sword by Weyersberg-This is a handsome example that measures 39 inches (99.06cm) in total length with a blade that measures approx. 33 inches 83.82cm) long. The black bakelite handle is damage free and in excellent condition as is the twisted silver grip wrap. The bronze police eagle has a nice bronze finish and has a very nice tone and details. The nickel silver fittings on the pommel and crossguard are excellent, as is the embellishment above the crossguard. The finish remains 95% in place and has a gorgeous tone. The scabbard retains approx. 90% of its original black finish. There is some scuffing to the side of the scabbard, but overall, this is excellent. Some of these scuff marks appear as though they may have been touched up with paint at one point. The scabbard is very slightly bent, you can see how it is slightly bent towards the tip. Both the upper and lower scabbard fittings retain their finish and look terrific with the upper sword fittings. The blade rates very good, if not near excellent. You can see faint factory cross graining in place. The Paul Weyersberg logo can be seen on the reverse of the blade. This comes complete with a correctly tied, black. red and silver police sword knot that is in excellent condition. This is a desirable sword.
