German WWII Post Office Savings Book-This is a banking or savings book for someone named Hans Bourscheid of Stuttgart. Hans’s occupation is listed as a merchant. This savings book was issued in 1942. During the Third Reich, citizens used the post office as their bank as for mailing items. Citizens were issued these books and used them to deposit funds or to buy savings stamps. There are only a few entries in this book, with the remainder of the book being blank. There is one separate page included which is listed as a “new” book certificate. This page is loose from the book, as it is a separate document. Overall, the book is in very good condition. With the front of the book being very clear, with a nice prominent national eagle and swastika.
