German WWII Rare Early Luftwaffe Droop Tail Belt Buckle w/Leather Tab-This is a very cool early droop tail example. This is made of aluminum and has a very nice pebbled field. The details on the wreath do show moderate wear, as does the eagle’s feathers. In fact, someone wore the heck out of this buckle. The feathers are almost worn smooth on this bird. This has an aluminum catch and steel roll bar that has a coat of rust below the tab. The interesting thing is that the leather tab is well marked for H. Assmann and dated 1935. It is marked on the reverse for a signals flight. The tongue is marked LBA. Very interesting, rare find. This shows wear but is in overall very good condition.
