German WWII Reichsbahn (Railway) Official’s Visor Cap-This is made of a high quality dark navy blue wool. It is piped in red, which indicates personnel working in operations and traffic service. This includes station masters, traffic controllers, conductors and platform supervisors. This is the most commonly seen cap. The center band is black velvet. It is piped on the upper and lower edges in red cloth. Please be sure to see the spot of damage to the right of the cockade, on the centerband. There is a small, gilt finished railway eagle plus a zinc cockade. Both insignia retain the majority of their finish. The chinstrap is a twisted cord, of blue and gold. This is held on each side of the visor with gold pebbled buttons. The visor is thin black vulkanfibre that looks excellent. The underside is tan and has the crosshatch pattern. The top interior is lined in orange brown oil cloth. You can see the moisture shield and makers information, along with the size 57. The side lining is tan rayon, and has come loose from the sweatband, it is a bit fragile as well, so use care. There are a few spots of discoloration. The ersatz brown sweatband is in place and looks very good. Overall, this is a handsome cap in very good condition overall.
