German WWII SS Model 33 Dagger by Klaas-This is a very good example for anyone looking to add an SS dagger to their collection. It has solid nickel silver fittings throughout, which are totally uncleaned. There is some very slight green verdigris along the edges of the pommel and cross guard. Please be sure to look closely at the photos to see this. The reverse of lower cross guard has the roman numeral one (I) which is the stamp for Berlin. The black ebony handle has had a small chunk of wood missing at the lowest portion of the handle, just above the crossguard. The SS runic button and the nickel eagle are both tightly in place look very good. The black painted scabbard is a repaint and retains approximately 95% of its finish. The scabbard fittings are very good, but the scabbard ball has been flattened a bit. The blade is in good condition, showing the usual in and out marks and it has been shortened about ¼”. The early Robert Klaas “Kissing Cranes” logo is on the reverse of the blade. The motto is nicely etched and very readable. This dagger has a later vertical hanger that is nicely RZM marked, the snap clip is also maker marked with an RZM code for Overhoff & Cie of Lüdenscheid.
