German WWII SS Officer’s Sword Dachau Made-This is a textbook example of a Dachau produced officer’s SS sword. This measures approx. 37 inches (93.98 cm) long, with a blade that measures 31 ½ inches (80cm) long. This is late production but is definitely wartime produced. It has an excellent fit and finish. The black wood handle has a few slight dents, but the plated steel SS runic button is firmly in place along with the correct wire wrap. The pommel cap is missing its finish and has toned to a dark color, but overall, the hilt is in excellent condition. The leather buffer is in place under the crossguard. The scabbard’s original black enameled paint is a solid 90%. The scabbard fittings are in very good condition, with nice tone and detailing. The unmarked blade has a textbook matte finish and is very good. This comes with a correctly tied silver and black SS bullion knot, that is also in very good condition. This is a desirable example of late production, wartime example.
