German WWII WHW Hamburg 1936/37 Mein Erste Tinnie- This gorgeous tinnie is constructed out of a die struck, aluminum that has been silver washed. The obverse shows the national eagle holding a wreathed swastika, behind "TAT", underneath "Meine Erste", and above the script "Gau: Hamburg WHW 1936/37". The reverse has a horizontal pin that functions perfectly. This is maker marked for Carl Wild of Hamburg. The WHW was a large state-run social welfare and relief organization that distributed thousands of different commemorative tinnies to citizens in exchange for donations. The phrase "Meine Erste" was used on badges given to first-time donors to encourage continued civic participation in the charity drives. This tinnie is excellent.
