Italian “Red Devil” model 35 FULLY INERT Mortar-This was officially called the Italian Bomba a Mano Mod 35. This is a rapid-fire mortar that would be fired by using the grenade launcher. A good squad could fire up to 18 rounds a minute. These were heavily used by the Italian army during WW2. There are many variations of this grenade, but this example is the model 35. This model is made of aluminum, with an “all ways” impact fuse. It was painted a bright red color and had the notorious reputation of being dangerous when found in an unexploded condition. They were nicknamed the “Red Devils” by the British during the DAK campaigns. This was made by the SCRM or the Soicieta Romana. This example retains the majority of its original red paint and is in very good condition overall. Again, this is INERT. We were lucky enough to buy this from the son of a veteran. We will supply the name of the soldier to the buyer.
