Large Early Imperial German Military Presentation Statue-This stands an impressive 17” tall! The statue is brass and the base is marble. Needless to say, it is hefty, weighing in at 14lbs. The statue is of a member of the 3rd Brandenburg Pioneer Battalion. Of course, this would be an engineering or construction battalion. The soldier is shown in great detail, right down to the pickelhaube (which is unfortunately missing its “pickle” lol). He is complete with his pick axe, sword, rifle, backpack and canteen. There is a plaque on the front that reads “Herrn Oberleutnant Winfelmann das Offizier-Korps das Pionier-Batallion-von Rauch Brandenburgischen Nr 3 9.1.1892-1.5.1902.” This was an engineering battalion of the Prussian army and was subordinate to the III Army Corps or the 1st Engineer Inspection. Their peace location was Spandau. A fantastic and unique piece! THIS MAY REQUIRE ADDITIONAL SHIPPING DUE TO HEAVY WEIGHT
