Late WWII US Private Purchase Ike Jacket-This is a dark olive drab wool, finely tailored private purchase example. There is minor wear only and it is quite clean. There is a five button closure and all buttons are olive drab bakelite. There are pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps. The left side has a machine embroidered state side US Army Military District of Washington. The right side has an awesome, theater made bullion US Army Forces Western Pacific patch. The left sleeve has a pair of bullion service stripes, indicating a year of overseas service. The interior is fully lined in green rayon that is in fine condition. There are pockets on both sides. On the right side there is a tailor tag which indicates that this garment was produced by the Clipper Craft Clothes company. This was a popular 20th-century American menswear brand manufactured by Trimount Clothes of Boston, Massachusetts. There is a tag inside but it is hard to read (it IS named). This is a special piece!
