Third Reich Luftschutz Model 1934 “Gladiator” Helmet-This is the textbook, 3 piece, beaded Luftschutz type helmet produced in steel with a blue finish that remains 90% intact. There are a few small dings in the upper dome of the helmet. There is a large Luftschutz decal at the front which remains 85% intact. There are a pair of salt and pepper shaker style ventilation holes on each side. Inside is a three pad, brown ersatz leather liner. It is fairly clean, with minor wear and tears, mostly to one of the pads. The drawstring is present but torn from that same pad. There is an ersatz leather over rigid cardboard liner band. This shows wear as well. There is a stamping at the rear skirt that reads “RL2-38/28”. Also seen is a decal that indicates this helmet meets the guidelines of the Luftschutz and that the size of the liner is a 58. There is a wide, black leather chinstrap that is in fine condition. Overall a very nice example of this type!
