Third Reich Luftschutz Reissue Helmet to Bulgarian Forces-This could be a combat reissue or a Bulgarian air raid reissue helmet. It has a field grey paint over a heavy steel shell. It is a three piece in the model 1938 style. There was a shield at the front at some point as witnessed by the three small holes. There is a Belgian shield on the right side. There appears to be a black stripe around the circumference of the helmet. Inside is a tan ersatz leather liner that is complete and in good condition with only minor wear and discoloration. There is a wide brown leather chinstrap that shows some wear but is complete. The rear skirt is stamped “RL2 38/29”. The shell is a size 64. A scarce example!
