Third Reich Municipal Police Other Ranks Visor Cap-This example has a blue green wool body that shows some minor wear, minor discoloration and minor tracking as well as a few small moth holes. The peak reinforcement is a bit loose and poking into the top peak of the cap. This should be easy to rectify should you decide to do so. There is green piping around the top panel as well as at the upper and lower edges of the dark brown badge cloth center band. The center band has minor wear and discoloration as well. There is a zinc police eagle and wreath which is missing all of the silver finish. It looks great though. The cockade is aluminum with a red felt bulls eye. There is a black patent leather chinstrap and a black vulkanfibre visor. The chinstrap is a bit faded, as is the visor which also has some crazing. The underside is finished in green and is crosshatched. The interior is fully lined in light brown oil cloth. There is a lot of damage to the interior lining with missing pieces etc. Please see the photos. There is a mostly intact, rhomboid shaped moisture shield which is size stamped 57. There is a paper tag in the name slot with a typed name, P. Marquardt. The sweatband is ersatz leather and mostly complete with wear and a small hole. The underside is stamped “Po 1942”. A sound example overall!
