Third Reich Police Generals Visor Cap-This is as scarce as hens teeth! It is a private purchase example of the highest quality. The cap is produced in a super soft, doe skin wool in a blue green police hue. It is as clean as a whistle. There is a bit of tracking to the top panel as well as a very small hole in the top panel. There is gold mesh piping around the top panel as well as at the upper and lower edges of the chocolate brown badge cloth center band. Check out that insignia, wow! It is a two piece eagle and wreath with a gilt finish that remains mostly intact. There is also an aluminum cockade with a red felt bulls eye. The chin cord is gold celleon with gold finished pebbled metal buttons holding it firmly in place. The visor is black vulkanfibre. It is excellent. The underside is finished in a cream hue with crosshatching. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon that is excellent. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield that has maker nomenclature. The logo of August Schellenberg of Berlin is seen along with the script “Sonderklasse, Stirndruckfrei, D.R.G.M.” The tan leather sweatband is in fine condition, with minor discoloration only. It is also stamped stirndruckfrei which translates to pressure free forehead. This great cap is a size 57. Excellent and extremely scarce!
