Third Reich SD Hauptamt Service Tunic, Great Coat and Trousers for Major-This scarce grouping is undoubtedly all for the same Sturmbannführer however it is not named. The service tunic is produced in soft, tricot woven black wool. It is very clean and there is minor wear in a few spots plus a few small moth bites, nothing serious by any means. There are padded shoulders and French cuffs. There is a four button closure and all buttons are silver finished pebbled metal. There are four pockets with scalloped flaps. The breast pockets are pleated and the hip pockets are internal. The front and lower edge of the lay down collar are piped in silver bullion twist rope. The collar tabs are black badge cloth with the same silver bullion twist rope piping. The left side is the rank tab, it has four silver finished metal pips. The right side is the SD tab which is always blank as is the case here. The right shoulder has a single sew in shoulder strap of black badge cloth with three braids of silver twist rope bullion piping. The right sleeve has an SS “Old Fighters” honor chevron. The left sleeve has a handsome SS armband of red wool. It has a separately applied white ribbed cloth disc with a multi piece cloth tape swastika. It is piped in black tape at the upper and lower edges. There is a black cloth SS RZM tag under the armband. Lower down the left sleeve is a really scarce diamond of black badge cloth with silver flat wire crossed flags for SS-mounted units. Also seen is the original and correct cuff title of black woven cloth and silver flat wire piping at the upper and lower edges. Silver flat wire script reads “SS-Hauptamt”. The left breast pocket has three sets of loops for badges. There are loops for a long medal or ribbon bar as well. The interior is fully lined in black cotton that is very clean. There is a large pocket on the left side. There is damage to the left arm pit area. There is a slot for an edged weapon but no clip. The straight legged service trousers are also produced in black tricot woven wool. Each leg is trimmed down its length in white wool piping. The trousers show minor wear, minor discoloration and a few small holes. There are buttoned slash type hip pockets, a single buttoned rear pocket and a watch fob pocket. There is a four button fly with an additional button and metal hook and loop fastener at the waist. There are leather straps at the lower legs for boot attachment. The interior is partially lined in black cotton. There are buttons and straps for suspenders etc. The waist is a size 34 and these are 41” in length. The great coat is a twin of the service tunic. It has some minor discoloration and a few holes to its black tricot woven wool body. The insignia is all identical. This is double breasted with two rows of five silver finished pebbled metal buttons. There are hip pockets with angled flaps. The interior is partially lined in black cotton that is in fine condition. There is a single large pocket on the left side. This grouping will make for a hugely impressive display!
