Two Glasses from Platterhof with Copy of Veteran Letter-The Platterhof Hotel was located close to the Berghof in Obersalzburg. It was later renamed the General Walker and used by US troops after WWII. We do not know the vintage of these glasses, but we have a letter from a Master Sgt John Tatten who wrote to his parents on August 12, 1945 stating that he had collected these glasses to take home. The small cocktail glass has the Platterhof logo silk screened onto the glass. The glass needs to be cleaned. It measures 3 ½ inches (8.89cm) tall and is approx. 2 ½ inches (6.35cm) in diameter. The second glass is a juice or milk glass. It is made of an opaque white glass. It measures 4 ½ inches (11.43cm) tall and is approx. 3 inches (7.62cm) in diameter.   It has the measurements of the cup in green on the side. This glass will hold ¼ of a liter. Both are in very good condition. A nice display piece!
