US Pilot’s Wartime Photo Album-This album was owned by a US airman who was stationed in Egypt, and Germany just after the war. This album contains over 340 black and white photos of various sizes during the war. The first photos start at Payne Field, the allied airfield built specifically for them in Cairo, Egypt, there are also some photos of Libya. There are some great photos of the Sphinx and the pyramids. There are photos of airfields in England. There are quite a few photos of other airmen, as well as quite a few of small remote control type mini planes. The album itself is made out of blue leatherlike material, it measures 13 ½ inches (34.29cm) long, by 10 ½ inches (26.67cm) wide. It is bound with a faded black twisted cord. Be aware that there are three pages with photos removed, and some of the photos have come loose from the photo paper. Overall, though, this album and the photos are in very good condition.
