Veteran Bring Back German WWII M1933 SS Dagger by Klaas-This is a handsome dagger. It has solid nickel silver fittings throughout. The reverse of lower cross guard has the roman numeral three (III) which is the stamp for Berlin SS district. The black ebony handle is damage free and shows light wear only. The nickel eagle is in place and is tight to the handle, as is the runic button. The enamel on the button is nice and clear. The anodized scabbard retains approximately 95% of its finish. There is a moderate dent in the ball of the scabbard so please see photos to see how its flattened. In fact, the scabbards' bottom fitting is loose as it is missing both screws and someone has secured it with a piece of wire. Based on the fact that this is a VETERAN BRING BACK, I’m assuming it was done back then. The blade is in beautiful with the deeply etched motto. It shows the usual in and out marks. please take a look at the photos to see the gorgeous factory cross graining. The early Robert Klaas “Kissing Cranes” logo is on the back of the blade. This comes with a handsome vertical hanger and “D”-ring. The leather hanger shows some cracking but is in overall very good shape. The nickel silver fittings are unmarked on the hanger and ring. We were able to purchase this from the family of a US army veteran. We will be sure to supply this information to the buyer. This is a very desirable dagger.
