Waffen SS Officer Visor Cap-This is a steal! Unfortunately the field grey wool body has multiple holes throughout the exterior (please see our photos). This is a textbook example in tricot woven wool. There is white piping around the top panel as well as on the upper and lower edges of the black velvet center band. Zinc insignia includes an original eagle and skull in silver with a majority of the finish remaining on each. The eagle is missing a prong (still attached to the cap). The reverse is RZM marked with maker M1/167 as the manufacturer. The eagle is still tight but will move around if touched. The maker is Augustin Hicke. The officer style, silver bullion double chin cord is held tightly in place by a pair of silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The visor is black vulkanfibre which shows some minor wear and fading. The underside is crosshatched and finished in grey. The interior is fully lined in field grey rayon. There is minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a grey leather sweatband that also has minor wear and discoloration from use. The cap is a size 57. It is slightly out of shape so we are including a wooden hat form with the purchase. This textbook example won’t last!
