WWI German Model 1916 Combat Helmet with Veteran Bring Back Info-This example retains 65% of its original field grey finish. There are no major dings or dents in the shell. The liner is missing but the steel liner band is present. The side of the interior is stamped BF 64 indicating production by F.C. Bellinger of Fulda in the size of 64. The veteran who brought this back was stationed in France as a member of the 81st Infantry Division of the American Expeditionary Forces, nicknamed the “Wildcats”. Included are photocopies of a letter of commendation from his captain, dated June 1919, his Honorably Discharged Veteran form, his enlistment record and more. Nice!
