WWII German Army Artillery Officer Private Purchase Visor Cap-This is a choice, mint example! It is produced in very soft, lightweight field grey wool this is as new. The stiffening ring is removed from the top panel, giving it a unique look and a flexible feel. The peak is swept back and very prominent. The red piping is still bright and in excellent condition. There is a dark green badge cloth center band. The eagle and wreath are each silver bullion, with a metal cockade and red felt bulls eye. The chin cord is the officer style in silver bullion. The visor is black vulkanfibre, remaining shiny and tightly affixed. The underside is orange brown and crosshatched. The interior is fully lined in gold rayon. It is very clean. The sweatband is orange brown leather. It is as new with the exception of one tiny little scuff. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with the impressively large eagle logo that reads “Extra Klasse” and “Marke Standard”. This is for the firm of J.C. Kornacker of Hildesheim. The cap is a very large size, perhaps a 59 or so. Excellent!
