WWII German Army Infantry Officer Private Purchase Visor Cap-This is a beauty! It is produced in soft, doe skin field grey wool. There is ever so slight wear and discoloration to the top panel. The top panel as well as the upper and lower edges of the dark green badge cloth center band are piped in white for infantry. The eagle and wreath are both silver bullion over dark green badge cloth. No issues here. The cockade is aluminum with a red felt bulls eye. There is an officer style silver bullion double chin cord with silver finished pebbled metal buttons. The visor is black vulkanfibre and in great condition. The underside is finished in a cream hue and crosshatched. The interior is fully lined in green rayon that is as new. There is a rhomboid shaped moisture shield with the maker logo (a ship) and the script “Deutsche Wertarbeit”. The ersatz leather sweatband is extremely stiff so I did not attempt to take a peek underneath. The cap is a large size 59. This is an excellent example overall!
