WWII German Army Model 1935 Double Decal Helmet-This example has a smooth, dark field grey finish that remains 80% intact overall. The army decal has some wear and scuffs, checking in at 65% intact. The tri color shield is 80% intact. The size 56 (handwritten onto it is the number 55 but it’s a 56) leather liner remains very soft and supple, with minor wear and discoloration from use. There is a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1938 and size stamped 64/56. The side of the interior is stamped N.S. 64 indicating production by Nickelwerke of Schwerte in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number D139. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is worn but original. It is maker marked and dated 1939. There is a very clear and legible dome stamp which is dated 1938. A sound example of a desirable helmet!
