WWII German Army Model 1935 Double Decal Reissue Helmet-Yes, you read it correctly, this is a reissue double decal helmet, very hard to find! This example has a reissue field grey finish that remains 80% intact overall. The left side has a reissue army decal that has some wear and remains 60% intact. The right side has a tri color shield is over the reissue finish which remains 80% intact. The reissue finish continues on the interior, where you see a brown leather, size 56 liner that remains very soft and has minor wear, fading and discoloration only. Someone wrote “55” on the liner but it is a size 56. There is a drawstring and a reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1938 and size stamped 64/56. The side of the interior is stamped N.S. 64 indicating production by Nickelwerke of Schwerte in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number but it is obscured by the reissue finish. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is heavily worn but complete. It is maker marked and dated 1939. A scarce example!
