WWII German Army Model 1944 Infantry Officer Tunic, Trousers and Side Cap-This is a scarce set. The tunic is private purchase and of a high quality, produced in field grey wool. It is very clean, with minor wear and a few very small holes. In the model 1944 there were only two pockets as seen here. Each is plain with straight flaps. There is a six button closure and all buttons are the late war blue grey type in pebbled metal. The collar tabs are hand applied. They are the officer style in matte bullion over green badge cloth with white infantry litzen. The sew in shoulder boards have a matte silver face with white badge cloth underlay that doubles as the piping. Each has a single pip, indicating the rank of oberleutnant or first lieutenant. The breast eagle is neatly hand applied. It is silver bullion with bright silver highlights over green badge cloth. There are (collector added) loops on the left pocket for two badges. The loops above are original and for a medium sized ribbon bar. The interior is fully lined in golden brown rayon that is in great condition aside from some minor wear and a tear in the neck area that was repaired. There are pockets on each side. This is a size medium. The model 1944 combat trousers are next. They are produced in field grey wool as well. There are a few spots of wear and some very minor discoloration only. These have tie closures at the ankles. There are two buttoned hip pockets, a single buttoned rear pocket and a buttoned watch pocket. The seat is reinforced. There is a four button fly and a pair of buttons at the waist. There are cinch straps at the hips. There are straps and buttons for suspenders and underwear etc. The interior is very clean. It is well marked with an RBNr, size information and the date 1944. The waist is a size 30 and these are 43” long. Finally, the private purchase, officer quality side cap. It is produced in an extremely soft field grey doe skin wool. There is minor wear, minor discoloration and minor tracking. The scallop and top panel are piped in silver mesh piping. There is a white infantry soutache at the front. Insignia consists of a silver flat wire over green eagle and a bullion cockade with a red felt bulls eye. The interior is fully lined in a reddish brown rayon that shows minor wear and discoloration. It is size stamped 57. A scarce set!
