WWII German Kriegsmarine Model 1940 Single Decal Helmet-A desirable piece with a smooth field grey finish that remains 65% intact. Interestingly, there are two small holes in the front lip. No doubt, these were drilled by the GI who brought it home in order to hang his war trophy from his wall. The layered navy decal on the left side is a beauty, checking in at 80%. The brown leather, size 58 liner is slightly worn and discolored from use. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1941 and size stamped 66/58. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 209 indicating production some time in early 1941. A very desirable piece!
