WWII German Model 1940 Single Decal Army Helmet-This is a combat example featuring a field grey finish that remains 80% intact. The side of the helmet has an army eagle decal that remains 85% intact and, intriguingly, is applied with a bit of a tilt. The interior features a soft, size stamped 59 tan leather liner that is in fantastic condition, with extremely minor discoloration only. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1943 and size stamped 66/59. The side of the interior is stamped ET 66 indicating production by Eisenhuttenwerke of Thale in the size of 66. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 701 indicating production some time in 1943. A very nice example overall!
