WWII Italian MVSN Service Tunic and Breeches for Officer Candidate-This set is for an officer candidate or cadet officer in the Italian Fascist military service MVSN (Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nationale). The tunic is produced in field grey wool. There is minor wear, minor discoloration, minor staining, a few extremely small holes and two missing buttons (one closure that is decorative only and one pocket). There are pleated breast pockets with straight flaps. There is a four button closure and these closure buttons are bakelite. The brass buttons seen on the left are decorative only. The sewn on collar tabs are black badge cloth with brass fasces and in the distinct style used by the MVSN, the so called “double flame”. The sew in shoulder straps are field grey wool with black piping and brass fasces buttons. The large, handsome insignia at the cuffs indicate that the wearer was an officer candidate as mentioned. This consists of a wide horizontal tresse stripe and diamond (lozenge) over black badge cloth and with sewn in black highlights. The interior is fully lined in field grey HBT. It is clean and damage free. There are large pockets on each side, each with a maker ink stamp. The tunic is a size medium. The breeches are produced in the same field grey wool as the tunic. These are in great condition, remaining clean and damage free. The legs taper down to long cloth closures at the ankles. There are green stitched reinforcements on the inner lower legs. There are slash type hip pockets and a pair of buttoned rear pockets. There is a four button fly with an additional button and hook/loop closure at the waist. This includes an original thick green leather belt that is marked on the back by the buckle. There are buttons inside for suspenders, underwear etc. The waist is a size 30 and these are 36” in length. This is a rare set!
