WWII Japanese Army Combat Helmet

WWII Japanese Army Combat Helmet-This example was repainted black at some time but definitely during the period. The original olive drab finish is seen inside the dome.  The army star we believe to be a post war replica. The original three pad brown leather liner is in place along with its leather liner band, headband and drawstring. The leather pads are a bit stiff, with minor wear and discoloration from use and age. The stitches the hold the liner band together at the back are missing and is a bit loose because of this. There are red kanji characters painted at the front of the interior. This is over the black finish so we know it is wartime. The characters are the surname of the soldier, “Kumamoto”. A sound example overall!
