WWII Japanese National Flag-This is the hinomaru flag aka “meatball” flag, the national flag of Japan. It is two sided and produced in an off white bunting material. There is discoloration, staining, a few small holes and a tear at the fly end. The red central meatball is not applied to the field, it is actually a separate piece sewn into a hole in the center of the flag. The corners of the hoist end have cotton ties for hanging, these are reinforced. The flag is fairly large, measuring 57” x 37”. A sound example.
