WWII Soviet Red Army General Tunic-This is for the rank of “general-mayor”, equivalent to a brigadier general in the US army. It is in the M1940 style. It is finely tailored in olive khaki wool that is of a very high quality. There is a five button closure and all buttons are large, gilt finished metal with the hammer, sickle, wreath etc. There are breast pockets with scalloped flaps. The cuffs are piped in purple as is the front and lower edge of the collar. The collar has purple badge cloth patches that are piped on the top edges in gold bullion twist rope. Each has a pair of bronze stars pinned through the collar. Each sleeve has a lar gold tresse chevron that is piped on the lower edge in purple. There is a gilt flat wire star that is over purple badge cloth as well. The chevrons have minor wear from use. There is a hole at the left breast from a screw back medal of some sort being there for a long time. The interior is fully lined in olive drab cloth. It is very clean with minor wear. This is a size medium and in excellent overall condition!
