WWII US Army Named Captain’s Helmet- Wow! What a beauty here! This helmet is very cool!  This helmet shows actual field use! The helmet still retains a good portion of its original OD paint that has age to a fine patina. It is a front seam and fixed bale with a heat number of 128a. Putting the manufacture date  from April to June 1942. Rather early! The chin straps are intact with brass hardware. The liner is manufactured by Westinghouse.  It has its original OD paint that is in very good condition. Affixed to the front is a set of metal captain bars. Inside the shell there is a strip of tape with his name written on it. Not very legible. Also written directly to the interior dome of the shell is his name. Mat Clouter. The helmet has a nice helmet net for that real combat look! The liner is manufactured by Firestone. It has about 50 percent of its original OD paint. There are masking tape Captains bars on front. I do see some letters on back side of liner that is likely part of his name. The liner is complete. It shows use but in good condition. There are 5 cracks along edge in various spots. We will call this a later war production liner based on the components.  This helmet set is in very good condition with a very good cool factor!
