WWII US Army or Marine M1 Named Helmet- This is an excellent helmet with a great look! We often see the Navy and USMC stencil most of their gear but the army dis as well. We are unsure what branch this may be from. There is a stenciled name to the front of the helmet…Ratcliff. The helmet still retains most of its original OD paint. It is a front seam and swivel bale with a partial heat number of 7B. The first part of number did not stamp. The chin straps are intact with blackened steel hardware. There is some fraying to both straps. The liner is manufactured by Westinghouse. It has its original OD paint that is in very good condition. The liner is missing the nape strap. It shows some use but in very good condition. We will call this a later war production liner based on the components. The chin strap is marked United Carr on the rivet. This near excellent helmet is a great piece to add to the collection with a rather cool name!
